Welcome to the Uptime devlog

Why we're building a datacenter sim that holds up to the people who do this for a living — and what's coming in Early Access.

You don’t manage a datacenter from a spreadsheet. You walk it.

That’s the whole bet behind Uptime: a tycoon sim you build with your hands, running on a deterministic simulation that holds up to working engineers. You buy the servers, carry them to the rack, and run every cable yourself. Underneath it all, every server, switch, cable and port is a live entity in a real engine — not set dressing, not a bar filling up.

What’s coming

Uptime is coming soon to Steam, launching into Early Access. The core is already here — the campaign, sandbox, hard modes, and the customer and service simulation. Early Access is where we’ll add breadth on top of it:

  • more sites and tiers, from the garage to hyperscale
  • more hardware to rack and cable
  • more scenarios — disasters, constraints, new starts
  • a steady pass over art, audio and onboarding

…shaped by what players, especially the infra crowd, push on.

Wishlist on Steam to get notified the moment it’s playable.

This is where it’s built in the open

This devlog is where we’ll write up what’s changing and why. The Discord is where the balance arguments, bug reports and war stories happen. If you run this stuff for a living, come pick the simulation apart — that’s exactly the feedback that makes it better.

See you on the floor.
